Natural Lawn installation process

The area is first cleared and any rubbish removed from the site.
We excavate to a depth of at least 60–80mm below pathways and driveways.
Reticulation is installed, ensuring head-to-head coverage.
The soil structure is improved based on the original analysis. Top soil, bentonite, organic matter and wetting agents are usually used at this stage where required.
Proper soil preparation is completed by levelling and lightly compacting the soil to remove large air pockets.
Slow-release fertilisers are applied.
New lawn is laid carefully, with attention to laying turf evenly and avoiding gaps between turf rolls to encourage strong soil-to-turf contact.
Reticulation watering times are adjusted to suit strict watering restrictions in Perth. We apply for watering exemption on your behalf.

New lawns will usually require a light mow 2 to 3 weeks after installation depending on the time of the year. We also recommend the application of a liquid fertiliser every 2 weeks until the lawn is fully established.

Artificial grass installation process
(foot traffic only)

Many property owners now tend to gravitate towards artificial turf as an alternative to natural lawns. Professionally installed premium artificial lawns look just as good as natural lawns and require less maintenance. The installation process amounts to as much work as laying natural turf with the difference being that you won’t ever need to water or fertilise it to stay in top shape.

We supply and install a range of synthetic lawns for both residential and commercial properties. The grasses we install are all UV stabilised to cope with the harsh Perth summer.

The area is excavated to a depth of between 80 to 90mm lower than the finished level
Blue metal dust is installed as the base between 50mm and 65mm in thickness
The blue metal dust will then be wet and compacted to achieve a solid base
The base is screed as smooth and even as possible while considering drainage
Final base will be about 25mm lower that paths to allow for artificial lawn thickness (usually between 30 to 40mm)
The grass will be laid so that the blades point in the same direction
Commercial grade adhesive tape is used for joins
Special pins are installed every 30cm to hold the lawn down
An infill of silica sand is then added to protect it from wear and tear and to weigh it down
A power broom is used to evenly spread the silica sand
